The 30,000-Sq.-Ft. Hollywood Cars Museum includes opportunities for patrons to see legendary car creations including cars for “RoboCop,” “Back To The Future,” “The Flintstones,” a bunk bed hot rod and a 40-foot pink hot tub convertible limo, which was profiled on “Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous!” And now Hollywood Cars Museum is the new home to several sparkly vehicles in its newly opened Liberace Garage! The museum is now home to five James Bond vehicles including the Lotus Esprit Submarine Car driven by Roger Moore in the 1977 film, The Spy Who Loved Me, Batmobiles from both TV and film adaptations, Doc Hudson‘s Hornet from the animated Pixar film “Cars”, ” Chitty Chitty Bang Bang” from the movie of the same name, the “Back to the Future” Delorean, the “Knight Rider” pursuit car (one of two in the world,) the bullet-ridden car from the newest “Green Hornet” movie, “Herbie the Love Bug,” “Bonnie and Clyde‘s” death car from the movie, and vehicles from the first film in the “Fast and Furious” series, including one that was driven by the late Paul Walker.

Visitors can also see cars from TV shows such as, “The A Team,” “Hardcastle and McCormick,” the Grand Torino from “Starsky and Hutch,” the coffin dragster from the “Munsters,” and the General Lee from “Dukes of Hazzard.” There are also tributes to SpongeBob Squarepants, the Mater tow truck from the animated movie “Cars,” Bugs Bunny’s Rabbit Car, and the Tasmanian Devil Car.

Hot Rod City Las Vegas and Michael Dezer, owner of one of the world’s largest vehicle collections at The Miami Auto Museum, announce the grand opening of the new Hollywood Cars Museum Las Vegas. The recent partnering with Dezer, one of the world’s foremost car collectors, has resulted in a 30,000 sq.-ft. (and still growing) museum housing vehicles that have appeared in more than 100 films, TV shows and videos.

Other vehicles on display include the Alligator Car from “Death Race 200″ and the Pink Hudson Hornet from “Porky’s.” In all, the Hollywood Cars Museum houses more than 100 cars worth a total of several million dollars.

The total Hollywood Car Collection in the Las Vegas Collection includes The NEW Liberace Garage, James Bond’s Lotus Submarine Car, Doc Hudson’s Hornet from “Cars”, Batmobile, Delorean from “Back to the Future”, Knight Rider,  Herbie the Love Bug, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, and the Death Car from the “Bonnie and Clyde” movie.

Additional movie and TV series cars include the Vehicles from the “Fast and Furious” movies, Grand Torino from “Starsky and Hutch” TV Series, Coffin Dragster from “The Munsters” called the Munster Mobile, the car known as the General Lee from “Dukes of Hazzard” 80’s TV series, and one of “The Flintstones” mobiles from the movie and the cartoon.

This is the car Bonnie Parker and Clyde Barrow drove around the Midwest robbing banks. It can be seen in the 1967 Bonnie and Clyde movie starring Warren Beatty and Faye Dunaway. In real life, Bonnie and Clyde were chased down by lawmen with machine guns and killed which created the over bullet 50 holes in the car. The car (as seen above) is a 1934 Ford Fordor Deluxe Sedan with V8 Ford engine. At the time, it was one of the fastest cars in America and was often used by bootleggers in the south.

The Love Bug movie was a 1968 Walt Disney Productions comedy film directed by Robert Stevenson based on a book written in 1961 by Gordon Buford. The movie stars actors Dean Jones, Michele Lee, David Tomlinson, and Buddy Hackett in which the little Volkswagen Beetle takes on a life of its own. The Love Bug Movie was released on March 13, 1969.

The Herbie Love Bug Car (#53) is a 1963 Volkswagen Beetle with a 40 BHP 1192 cc engine, shows off red and blue racing stripes, and is currently featured in the Hollywood Car Museum in Las Vegas. Many people ask, ” Why does Herbie have the number 53? ” The number 53 is on the car because the producer of the Love Bug movie, Bill Walsh, wanted to honor his friend and favorite baseball player Dodger Sta,r Don Drysdale, who prominently wears the number 53 on his uniform.


3. Captain Phillips Lifeboat – From The 2013 Film “Captain Phillips” starring Tom Hanks.

This is the lifeboat from the movie “Captain Phillips”. It stars Tom Hanks and Barkhad Abdi and is a 2013 American drama directed by Paul Greengrass. Inspired by the 2009 Maersk Alabama hijacking (which was real), the film tells the story of the brave Captain Richard Phillips as he ties to save his ship, the Maersk Alabama, from Somali pirates. In the end, Captain Phillips escapes the Somalian pirates in the (Above) lifeboat. The Captain Phillips lifeboat is now featured in the Hollywood Car Museum in Las Vegas.

The 1951 Fabulous Hudson Hornet of (NASCAR)  is a Full-Size Muscle car with aTwin H-Powered Hudson 308-cu.in. L-head straight-six engine. In it’s day, the Hudson Hornet could reach a top speed of 112 mph with a 0-60 speed time of 12.0 seconds.

The car was produced between 1950 and 1957 by the Hudson Motor Car Company was “described as the best-handling car of its time”. Doc Hudson‘s Hornet (as shown above) was first seen in the Animated Pixar Movie “Cars,“  The movie “Cars” was produced by Walt Disney Pictures and Pixar Animation Studios and premiered on May 26, 2006, at Lowe’s Motor Speedway in Concord, North Carolina with record-breaking success grossing over $462 million worldwide.

The movie is voiced over by Paul Neuman. The car has been a legend in the car world ever since. In the movie, the Hudson Hornet is in animation, but it is also a real car. The 1951 Fabulous Hudson Hornet Movie Car can now be seen at the Hollywood Car Museum in Las Vegas.

The Fast and Furious movies definitely increased America’s interest in souped-up Japanese Domestic Hot Rod type mini supercars. The 1995 Mitsubishi Eclipse used in the movie was manufactured by Diamond-Star Motors and Mitsubishi Motors with a  2.0 L 4-cylinder 210 HP engine.

The 1995 Eclipse that comes off the assembly line is not very fast. It has a recorded speed of 0-60 in 15.1 reaching 92.5 mph and a top speed of 140 mph. The “Fast and Furious” movie, starring Paul Walker, is about a Los Angeles police officer who is sent undercover as a street racer and loves his newfound passion.

After he finds his newfound passion, he is conflicted about whether he wants to return to the police force. To everyone’s sorrow “Paul Walker”, the actor, was killed in a car crash after filming the movie. But because of the immense success of the Fast and Furious movies, these little Japanese Domestic Hot Rods have skyrocketed in value.

As a matter of fact, the official Hagert Hagerty Price Guide for collectible cars states, “the typical 1995 Mitsubishi Eclipse GSXs, like Walker’s first car in the film, has been subject to a 73.9 percent climb in price, to about $20,700.” We all miss you Paul….

6. 1965 Mercedes Benz 220SE – Convertible Used For The 2009 Movie “The Hangover.”

How appropriate is it to have the car from a movie that was filmed in Las Vegas, now on display in Las Vegas? The Mercedes used in the movie “The Hangover” was a 1965 Mercedes-Benz 220SE Convertible and sells for about $95,000 It is currently on display at the Hollywood Car Museum in Las Vegas.

In the movie, a total of three Mercedes-Benz were practically destroyed by characters Stu, Doug, Phil, Black Doug, and the hilarious Mr. Chow. The Hangover movie produced by Warner Bros. was a mega-hit. It stars four amazingly funny characters that drive to Las Vegas for a bachelor party and get so drunk that they wake up the next morning and can’t remember what they did the night before. And while trying to retrace their steps, the Mercedes-Benz 220SE just gets destroyed.

The Hangover is a 2009 American comedy movie co-produced with Daniel Goldberg, and written by Jon Lucas and Scott Moore, and directed by Todd Phillips. The Hangover stars Zach Galifianakis, Bradley Cooper, Justin Bartha and has become a worldwide comedy and gut-breaker and was soon followed by The Hangover II, then The Hangover III.

For you car buffs, the 1965 220SE Convertible Mercedes has a 2306 cm3 M180 engine with twin Zenith carburetors that produces 120 HP with a top speed of 109 mph (174 km/h) and accelerates from 0-100 km/h (62 mph) in 13 seconds.


7. The Batmobile – From The Movie “Batman.”

The first Batman character was created by Bob Kane and Bill Finger in 1939 for DC Comics. Since that time there have been over 20 Batman movies that are worldwide film favorites. In each movie, Batman drives a very special car called the “Batmobile”.

This first movie “Batmobile” was featured in the Original versions of the 1990’s rendition appropriately called “Batman” The Movie (1989), and “Batman Returns” starring Michael Keaton and Jack Nicholson. In these movies, Batman uses this neo-retro custom-made crime-fighting car to fight crime in the city of Gotham.

The car is armed with a host of offensive and defensive armaments. The most effective tools are the side-mounted missile launchers, smoke emitters, and Browning M1919 .30 caliber machine gun. The Batmobile is garaged in Bruce Wayne’s Batcave every night but can now be seen at the Hollywood Car Museum in Las Vegas Nevada. This Batmobile (as seen above), from the original Batman movie, includes a Turbo Jet Turbine which propels it from 0-60 in 3.7 only seconds and has a top speed of 329 mph (530 km/h) with a booster.

The Batmobile was designed by Julian Caldow for illustrations, and Keith Short for the final body sculpt. The idea of this Batmobile came in a combination with the Sting Ray macho cars of the 1950’s and Salt Flat Speed Racers of the 1930s and the Sting Ray macho machines of the 1950s to produce a veritable tank of a car. The body of the car was sculpted by Keith Short.

The Batmobile, used in the 1989 Batman Movie and 1990 Batman Return movie, is a modification of a Chevrolet Impala chassis and designed by Anton Furst. Jeff Dunham bought the original 1989-1990 Batmobile for $620,000 from the Tim Burton car collection.

8. Chitty Chitty Bang Bang Race Car – From The 1968 Movie “Chitty Chitty Bang Bang”

The Chitty-Chitty-Bang-Bang movie is a Universal Studios musical that first hit the box offices in December 1968. Originally it was a children’s novel written by Ian Fleming in 1964 for his son Caspar.

Today, the Chitty Chitty Bang Bang car is one of the most iconic flying movie cars in the world. It was imagined and designed by Ken Adam and later built by the Ford Racing Team. Its car bonnet is crafted of polished aluminum, and the boat deck is hand-crafted red and white wood cedar, and the dashboard was crafted from a military plane.

Most all the polished brass parts and fittings were taken from Edwardian cars. Under the hood, the Ken Adams car is powered by a Ford three-litre V6 engine. It was driven in the movie by Dick Van Dyke who plays an eccentric inventor and car racer who takes his children for a ride of a lifetime.

There were several Chitty Chitty Bang Bang cars made for the film, and many replicas exist around the world. “This car is the best of the best and takes your breath away when you see it.” This is a once-in-a-lifetime show car for a car collector or museum.” The car Chitty Chitty Bang Bang car is worth $805,000 as a collectible car.
