The 2023 Pebble Beach Concours Best of Show went to this 1937 Mercedes-Benz 540K Special Roadster. It is considered amoung car collectors as one of the most iconic and valuable pre-war cars in the world. Its blend of exquisite design, superior engineering, and luxurious details makes it a prime example of the pinnacle of automotive art from the era.
In 2025, the featured classes include three marques celebrating major milestones: Chrysler, Invicta, and Moretti each mark their 100th anniversaries.
Other highlights include a tribute to the 60th anniversary of the Shelby Cobra 427, a showcase of post‑war designs by Virgil Exner, and a class dedicated to historic and modern Formula 1 racing legends.
This event is considered the pinnacle of concours competitions. Entry is highly selective—most entrants spend years restoring vehicles to strict standards of authenticity and condition, with individual cars valued in the mid‑six to seven figures. Acceptance alone is a mark of prestige.
In 2024, a 1934 Bugatti Type 59 Sports, presented by Fritz Burkard of The Pearl Collection, won the coveted Best of Show award. It was the first time in the Concours’ history that a preservation-class car—unrestored and original—received the honor.
Award Ceremonies
The Concours day concludes with an awards ceremony attended by crowds lining the fairway and grandstand. The presentation of top awards—including Best of Show—often makes headlines and can significantly elevate a car’s market value. The energized atmosphere provides a memorable finale to a day of automotive excellence.

Concours Sunday:

- The Awards Ceremony and live show, which includes presentation of class winners, special trophies, and the pinnacle Best of Show, is scheduled between 1:30 p.m. and 5:00 p.m.
