Sotheby’s will once again hammer out over 60 of the most significant and highly collectible cars from the esteemed Concorso d’Eleganza car show in Lake Como on Friday, May 19, 2023, just one day prior to the car show.
The auction will take place in a 19th-century Villa in Cernobbio, Italy, called the Villa Erba. The Villa sits prominently on the western shore of Lake Como in northern Italy, just one hour north of Milan, the home and birthplace of the Ferrari.
Villa d’Este on the shores of Lake Como is regarded as one of the world’s most romantic settings. It was founded in 1568 as Cardinal Tolomeo Gallio’s summer house and converted into a luxury hotel in 1873, becoming a favorite destination for European aristocracy and global leaders.
Held every two years since 2011, The RM Sotheby’s auction takes place alongside the prestigious Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este car show. The Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este is a prestigious international Concours d’Elegance that takes place on Lake Como shoreline and that showcases some of the world’s finest classic cars.
The largest portion of the cars are offered From The Piccolo Collection, The Black On Black Collection, The M Power Collection, and The Aurora Collection.
Two cars for sale are the 1961 Ferrari 250 GT SWB Berlinetta by Scaglietti (offered at €7,500,000 – €8,500,000 EUR), and a 2019 Ferrari Monza SP1 offered from The Aurora Collection with an estimated price of €7,500,000 – €8,500,000 EUR.
An example of some of the classic collector cars for sale includes a 2019 Ferrari Monza SP1 priced at €7,500,000 – €8,500,000 EUR, a 1955 Mercedes-Benz 300 SL priced at €2,800,000 – €3,300,000 EUR, and a 1967 Ferrari 275 GTB/4 priced at €2,500,000 – €3,000,000 EUR.
