Live from Chattanooga and new to the auction world in 2021 is the Mecum Auction scheduled to take place at the Convention Center in Chattanooga, Tennessee, October 15-16, 2021.

Over a two-day weekend, Mecum auctioners will swing the gavel at more than 600 classic and vintage collectible cars trying to find a new home.

With the addition of the Chattanooga to Mecum’s October Auction portfolio, Mecum will truly be the king of auctioneers for October.

Car Collectors are calling it the “MECUM OCTOBER TAKEOVER”. It is a trifecta that includes the Mecum’s Las Vegas Auction on October 7th, The Chattanooga/Mecum Auction on October 15-16, and the Mecum Chicago auction scheduled for October 23, 2021.

With record sales from all the auction houses, its hard to tell if people are collecting more cars, or everyone is just swapping among themselves.

This year celebrates the 2nd annual Chattanooga Festival in combination with a Mecum Auction. The three day combination event will feature a unique car themed experience for both young and old.

The festival and auction will take place at the Chattanooga Convention Center One Carter Plaza in Chattanooga Tennessee.

Both the festival and auction are themed friends and family events offering events, rides, classic cars experiences, food, and libations. All this among Chattanooga’s Majestic views of the Tennessee River and Appalachian Mountain views.

The Mecum Chattanooga two-day Auction will include over 600 cars and motorcycles including five private collections. Most will sell with “No Reserve”.

The five notable car collections to be sold at the auction are from The Walter Hawk Car Collection, The Jin Arneet Jr. Car Collection, The Defoor Brothers Collection, The North Lakes Private Mustang And Shelby Car Collection, and The Moss Car Correction.

One magnificent car that will roll down Mecum’s Red Carpet will be from the “THE DEFOOR BROTHERS COLLECTION”. This rare one of a kind race car is a 1965 Lola T70 MkI Spyder and should command top dollar.

The hidden jem has significant historical value, rarity, and petagree. Matter of fact, it was once owned by both Carroll Shelby and Dan Gurney. The car was even campaigned by Dan Gurney’s and his All-American Racing team.

And if looks could kill? This Lola has a beautiful two-tone, light on dark, custom paint job complimented by a jet black custom hand stitched leather racing interior.

The Racer is powered by a 5.0L Chevrolet V-8 engine which torques a Hewland 4-speed manual transmission. “Wicked Fast!”

This Wimbledon White 1968 Shelby GT500KR Convertible has a Shelby Serial No. 03452 and sports a 428 CI engine and automatic transmission. These Shelby’s always garner big buck at auctions with fierce bidding competition and is expected to sell for well above the asking price..

ADMISSION & PARKING
BIDDER REGISTRATION INFORMATION
To bid at the Action, you must preregister by 5 PM CT on Monday, October 4th. at the event or online.

Bidders not preregistered by 5 PM CT on Monday, October 4th will be required to purchase a 2021 Chattanooga Motorcar Festival ticket (Cost: $39) to gain access to the auction.

GENERAL ADMISSION
The Mecum auction dates and its close location in the heart of Chattanooga downtown position the event perfectly to complement the action. and excitement of the Chattanooga Motorcar Festival, an expansive event that takes over the streets of downtown Chattanooga for three days, Oct. 15-17, for a wheel-to-wheel race, a road rally, and the culmination of an organized Concours d’elegance.

General Admission tickets for the event can be purchased through the Chattanooga Motorcar Festival. These tickets will provide full access to the Motorcar Festival and the Mecum Auction. Registered Bidders who present their bidding credentials will also have access to the entire event.
