(Updated: September 19, 2023) — Mecum is set to auction over 1,500 vintage classic cars from Dallas, Texas, over three days starting September 20, 2023. The auction will include period supercars, exotic cars, sports cars, resto-mods, motor city muscle cars, hot rod trucks, vintage motorcycles, and auto memorabilia. You can watch the Mecum Auction live stream over the internet on the Motortrend TV Network.
Mecum will be streaming the Dallas Auction 2023 LIVE over the Motortrend TV Network and will RE-BROADCAST the auction over the Motortrend Plus Network starting Thursday, Sept 21, 2023, at 1:00 p.m. (Live brodcast dates are listed below)
The Mecum Auction will take place at the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center in Dallas, Texas, over three days. The auction starts on Wednesday, September 7th, and ends on Saturday, September 10th, running from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. each day. Tickets for the auction and vehicle previews are on sale at the Mecum website for $20 for advance online tickets or $30 the day of the event at the gate. Children are admitted for free when accompanied by an adult.
SELLER’S CHECK-IN & REGISTRATION
Sellers check-in is on Monday, Sept. 18th, through Tuesday, Sept. 19th, from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. For sellers, the auction registration costs $100 per person, which also allows bidding and purchases live in person, by telephone, or over the Internet. (Register Here)
FEATURED CARS
This 2020 McLaren Speedtail Supercar is only number 77 of 106 ever produced, includes both a hybrid powertrain and clocks only 1,237 miles. This performance beast produces an amazing 1,035 HP and has a top speed factory-rated at 250 MPH. Under the hood is a finely tuned M840T twin-turbocharged V-8 engine with a parallel hybrid system motor that twists a 7-speed Graziano dual-clutch transmission. The last 2020 McLaren Speedtail to sell was with RM Sotheby’s at $2,315,000 on August 18, 2023.

Here are three featured Detroit cars up for auction that should bring top dollar: They include a 1957 Ford Thunderbird F-Code Convertible, a 1969 Chevrolet Berger COPO Camaro RS, and a 1965 Shelby GT350 Fastback.
#1 – The first car is a 1957 Ford Thunderbird F-Code Convertible that is powered by a F-Code 312/300 HP Supercharged V-8 that twists a Ford-O-Matic 3-speed transmission. That car brightly shines with a Raven Black exterior and a Torch Red interior. SCM tells us that the high sell price is about $247,500. (LOT S93.1 at Mecum Dallas, 2023)
#2 – Second, is this a Fathom Green 1969 Chevrolet Berger COPO Camaro RS that is powered by a COPO 9561 L72 427/425 HP V-8 engine and automatic transmission. It includes a performance upgrade package, including a COPO 9737 Sports Car Conversion Kit. Rare? Oh yes! This COPO is one of an estimated 58 COPO Camaros built with the RS package. Classic.com estimated a similar Chevrolet COPO Camaro 1st Gen to be worth about $166,487 (lot F91 at Mecum Dallas 2023).
#3 Third is a 1965 Shelby GT350 Fastback that was a five-time first-place winner at the annual SAAC meet in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania. The Sheby houses a HiPo 289/306 HP V-8, 4-speed, and a T10 4-speed manual transmission. The car has been under the same ownership since 2012. Autoevolution states that another 1965 Shelby GT350s can command up to $600,000.

The 2023 Mecum Dallas Auction includes the possible sale of over 1,500 collector cars and vintage motorcycles. Vehicles are priced between $10,000 to $2,000,000. The oldest car is a 1922 Ford Model-T while the most modern car is a 2023 Chevrolet Corvette Coupe.
