#1 FEATURED HYPER RARE CLASSIC CAR TO BE AUCTIONED
1932 Chrysler Cl Imperial Convertible Sedan
“This 1932 Chrysler CL Imperial was owned by one family since 1947 and has never before been up for sale. This rare historic car is only one of 11 known to survive with the LeBaron Coachwork. The car is a Full Classic approved by the Classic Car Club of America (CCCA) Full Classic.”
The Chrysler Imperial was first introduced in 1926. It was Chrysler‘s top-of-the-line luxury vehicle and production continued until 1954 and then became a standalone brand The company positioned the cars as a luxury expensive prestige brand to rival Cadillac, Continental, Lincoln, Duesenberg, Pierce Arrow, Cord, and Packard.
According to Antique Automobile,
“The adjective ‘imperial’ according to Webster’s Dictionary means sovereign, supreme, superior or of unusual size or excellence. The word imperial thus justly befits Chrysler’s highest priced model.”[2]
The 1932 Series CL (as in the above example) remained the most prestigious Chrysler Imperial and all deluxe coachwork was custom-made by LeBaron.
It offered four convertible body styles along with a stretch conventional seven-passenger luxury sedan – similar to an eight-passenger limousine.
In 1932 the 32 Series CL Sedan Limousine Coach Builder by LeBaron retailed for $3,295 or $62,501 in 2021 dollars.
