Mecum Will Auction +600 Cars During The Chattanooga Motor Festival On October 14–15, 2022

On October 14–15, 2021, Mecum Sale will conduct a 600-classic-car auction at the Chattanooga Convention Center in Chattanooga, Tennessee. This is Mecum’s second year in Chattanooga as it coincides with the renowned Chattanooga Motor Festival.

Last year was Mecums’ inaugural auction in Chattanooga, Tennessee, where the sale beat all expectations. The auction yielded $18.7 million with a sell through rate of 84% on about 550 cars. This year, Mecum Chattanooga has increased to 600 vehicles, which include cars from all categories, including American muscle cars, classics, Corvettes, trucks, exotics, Hot Rods, and customs.

The 600 vehicles up for auction include cars from four private collections. The private collections include 968) cars from the “The Firehouse Find Car Collection”, (3) cars from the “The Exotic Low Mile Collection”, (18) cars from the “The Blackmon Car Collection”, and (29) more cars from an “Unknown Private Collection”.

The Firehouse Find Car Collection includes everything from a 1957 Ford Thunderbird F-Code (Lot F50) to a handful of Corvettes, such as a 1966 Chevrolet Corvette Convertible (Lot F5) with a 427 CI engine and 4-speed transmission.

The auction will also include a 1969 Plymouth GTX Convertible that is one of only 362 GTX convertibles produced in 1969 with an automatic transmission. The car includes a 440 CI V-8 engine, wears Sunfire Yellow paint with a black top and interior, has been featured in multiple magazines, and earned the title as an AACA Grand National Senior winner in 1998.

1971 Plymouth Cuda

This 1969 Sunflower Yellow Plymouth GTX Convertible houses a 440 CI V-8 engine and a Torqueflite automatic transmission. The Plymouth is one of only 362 GTX Convertibles with automatic transmission produced in 1969. The car was featured in the June 1993 issue of High Performance Mopar, the August 1994 issue of Mopar Muscle, and the November 1996 issue of Mopar Collector’s Guide.

Another Mopar product, a 1971 Plymouth Cuda (Lot S134), will be offered with a 440 CI V-8 engine and 4-speed transmission along with power steering and power brakes, a red with black billboard striping exterior and a black bucket seat interior with a center console.

This 1969 Sunflower Yellow Plymouth GTX Convertible houses a 440 CI V-8 engine and a Torqueflite automatic transmission. The Plymouth is only 1 of only 362 GTX Convertibles produced in 1969 with automatic transmission. The car has featured in the June 1993 issue of High Performance Mopar, the August 1994 issue of Mopar Muscle and the November 1996 issue of Mopar Collector’s Guide.
