The Woodward Dream Cruise is the world’s largest traveling car show that takes place over three days and travels over 16 mile through multiple cities. Over 100,000 cars cruise up and down Woodward Ave. at about 5-10 mph while people line up street side to get a glimpse at automotive history in motion.

HISTORY: THE WOODWARD DREAM CRUISE 
In August 1995, Nelson House and a group of volunteers looked to relive and recreate the nostalgic heydays of the 50s and 60s, when youth, music and Motor City steel roamed Woodward Avenue, America’s first highway. That year, 250,000 people participated—nearly ten times the number expected. The rest, as they say, is history.

The Woodward Dream Cruise is sort of an all-week event, but on August 21, the one-day automotive event will draw over 1.5 million car enthusiasts and 40,000 classic cars to Woodward Avenue. Each year, from around the world and as far away as New Zealand, Australia, Japan, and the former Soviet Union car enthusiasts be. come to see the cruise.

The Woodward Dream Cruise is one of the world’s largest one-day celebration of classic car culture and attracts over 1 million visitors on one day. More than 40,000 exotic cars, muscle cars, street rods, custom builds will be on the street.

HOW MUCH IS THE CRUISE
The cruise ids FRE and there is no admission to cruise or any of the streetside events. Anyone can participate ij driving a classic car but people not driving a classic car are asked to stay out of the cruising lane of Woodward Ave.

The Woodward Dream Cruise takes place each year on the third Saturday in August, and runs between 9 a.m. and 9 p.m.

The Woodward Dream Cruise started as a major fundraiser for a local soccer field in Ferndale in 1995 and in just a few short years, the cruise has evolved into one of the world’s largest one-day vintage automotive event.
