RM Sotheby’s Sealed Elite Collector Car Auction (Sept. 30, 2026)

RM Sotheby’s to Offer 2024 Gordon Murray T.50 in Single-Car Sealed Auction
RM Sotheby’s will offer a 2024 Gordon Murray Automotive T.50 through its Sealed September auction, with bidding opening September 23, 2026, and closing September 30, 2026. The car is located in London, United Kingdom, and will be sold through RM Sotheby’s confidential online sealed-bid format.
This particular T.50 is chassis 047 of only 100 production cars built and has covered just 62 miles from new. It was completed in 2024 to European specification and remains unregistered, with a unique Harrier exterior over Luffield Tan leather and satin paint-protection film.
RM Sotheby’s estimates this T.50 at £4.2 million to £4.6 million, or approximately $5.5 million to $6 million. Recent auction results show how quickly values have climbed: the first T.50 offered publicly, chassis 035, sold for $5.63 million in Abu Dhabi in December 2025, while chassis 009 achieved $8.035 million at Broad Arrow’s California Mille auction in April 2026. Those results suggest strong collector demand for the model, especially for exceptionally low-mileage examples.
The T.50 was created by legendary Formula 1 and McLaren F1 designer Gordon Murray as a modern interpretation of the lightweight, analog supercar. Power comes from a naturally aspirated 4.0-liter Cosworth V12 producing 661 horsepower, paired with a six-speed manual transmission and rear-wheel drive. The engine revs to an extraordinary 12,100 rpm.

The T.50’s driver-focused cockpit features a central driving position flanked by two passenger seats, analog instrumentation, lightweight carbon-fiber construction, and a beautifully exposed six-speed manual gearshift mechanism.
Like the McLaren F1, the T.50 features a central driving position with two passenger seats positioned slightly behind the driver. Its most distinctive engineering feature is the large rear-mounted fan, which works with the car’s aerodynamic system to reduce drag and increase downforce without relying on a large fixed rear wing.

he T.50’s massive rear-mounted fan accelerates airflow beneath the car, increasing downforce, reducing aerodynamic drag, and improving high-speed stability without a conventional rear wing.
Weighing only 997 kilograms, or about 2,198 pounds, the T.50 was engineered around Gordon Murray’s long-standing emphasis on low weight, driver involvement, and mechanical simplicity. Only 100 road-going production examples were planned, making this low-mileage example an unusually rare opportunity on the collector-car market.
