RM Sotheby’s Auction: The Porsche Carrera Collection Part 1 Starts in Switzerland on Friday, July 7th, 2023

If you’re a fan of Porsche and the Carrera legacy, you won’t want to miss RM Sotheby’s Supcoming The Carrera Collection Part 1  auction in Switzerland on Friday, July 7th, at 2:00 pm, 2023 sharp.

RM Sotheby’s will be auctioning off one of the largest collections of grade-A Porsches as well as a couple of high-end sports cars. The auction will include over 40 unique Porsches of all types, years, makes, and models.

Ford Racing

Porsche models include a good selection of 911 Turbos, Touring, Coupes, Targas, Spyders, Speedsters, and Convertibles. There will also be a couple of upgraded track-ready racers form the GT2 and GT3 series.

The highest-priced Porsche 911 is a 1973 Porsche 911 Carrera RS 2.7 Touring car (Lot 132) with an asking price of CHF 400,000–CHF 450,000, while the lowest-priced Porsche is a 2011 Porsche Boxster Spyder with an asking price of CHF 40,000–CHF 60,000.

The RM Sotheby’s Carrera Collection Part 1: “Switzerland” will be auctioning the 1973 Porsche 911 Carrera RS 2.7 Touring (Lot 132) for between CHF 400,000 and CH F450,000 Without Reserve and this 1963 Porsche 356 B Carrera 2 2000 GS Coupé by Reutter (Lot 141) offered at CHF 360,000 – CHF 450,000.

“$100,000 IN U.S. DOLLARS EQUALS ABOUT CHF 111,787.00”

A few non-Porsche automobiles will also be offered, including this 1970 Mercedes-Benz 280 SE 3.5 Cabriolet (Lot 116) estimated to sell between CHF 180,000 and CHF 220,000, and a 1956 Chevrolet Corvette (Lot 152) asking price of CHF 70,000 to CHF 90,000.

FACTOID: “Why is Porsche called Porsche?”  Quite simply put, it bears the name of its founder, Ferdinand Porsche.  The name Carrera in Spanish actually translates to ‘Race’.


But before the auction begins, there will be plenty of time to view each car up close and personal.

LIST OF EVENTS

On Thursday, July 6th from 9:00 am – 11:00 am, there will be a Cars & Coffee event where you can preview the cars and mingle with other enthusiasts.

On Friday, July 7th from 10:00 am – 2:00 pm, there will be another Vehicle Inspection & Preview where you can get an even closer look at each car. And if you’re lucky enough to be invited, there will even be a cocktail reception from 12:00 pm – 2:00 pm.

The auction itself will begin at 2:00 pm on Friday, July 7th. Admission is limited to registered bidders, catalog holders, consignors, invited guests, and qualified media only.
