Mecum Auctions is set to roll out a stunning collection of over 1,000 collector cars at the Las Vegas Convention Center from November 9-11, 2023. The auction will feature a diverse selection of highly collectible vehicles including supercars, classic cars, vintage cars, and Detroit muscle cars.

This year, the Las Vegas auction is set to showcase a diverse range of cars spanning generations, with over 20 different marques represented from the years 1929 to 2024. The convention center is expected to come alive with the enthusiasm of over ten thousand car aficionados and collectors, all while being captivated by the hospitable ambiance created by Mecum’s cordial crew.

The event will offer a variety of entertainment opportunities, including exhibitor booths, sponsor-driven experiential exhibits, live entertainment acts, and adrenaline-pumping Thrill Rides courtesy of Dodge. As is customary, the hosting service will indulge attendees with an array of food, beverages, and spirited drinks, encapsulating the vibrant essence of Sin City.

Mecum Live visitors will be able to bid on not only a large selection of vintage cars but also motorcycles and antique memorabilia. Those who can’t make it to the auction can bid by phone or on the internet. All bidders must first register first at the www.mecum.com website.

Additionally, Mecum Las Vegas will broadcast the live auction across various networks including MotorTrend TV and MotorTrend Plus. MotorTrend Live services can be accessed through local cable networks or online, allowing viewers to tune into the live-streaming broadcasts on a Smart TV, PC, Laptop, Tablet, or Smartphone.

FEATURED VEHICLES

The cars will be auctioned at random over three days in no particular order. But Mecum does tend to hold off a good portion of the more desirable and expensive cars until toward the end of day three. So in no particular order, below are some of the cars looking for new owners.

Among the trending Detroit Muscle vehicles up for auction are a meticulously maintained  Black 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS, a rare 1963 Chevrolet Corvette Convertible, and a souped-up Jet-Black 1968 Dodge Charger R/T.

For Chevrolet Corvette lovers, this year’s auction will feature over fifteen eye-popping Corvettes with dates ranging from 1957 to 2016. For instance, the oldest Corvette is a Bright Red 1957 Chevrolet Corvette Convertible 6-speed powered by a 5.7L V-8.

In contrast, the newest Corvette is a Jet Black 2016 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 C7.R with only Miles (1 of 570 Produced) powered by a Supercharged 6.2L/650 HP V-8. Lastly, a personal favorite is a black-on-silver 1978 Chevrolet Corvette Indianapolis Pace Car Coupe loaded with a 350 CI V-8, Automatic with an 8-track player.

Besides the Detroit Muscle Cars and Corvettes, the auction will also spotlight some classic gems that are certainly worth mentioning. A sneak peek into the collection reveals a Ruby Red 1952 Oldsmobile 98 Convertible, a 1953 Allard J2X MkIII Replica Roadster adorned in “Pontevecchio Bordeaux,” and a 1955 Cadillac Eldorado Special Sport Convertible in sleek Platinum Steel.

On the other end of the car collector category are the Supercars. Mecum has a limited selection in Vegas but they deserve a mention. They include a 2022 Flat Green Lamborghini Aventador LP 780-4 Ultimae with only 97 miles, a Rosso Corsa (RED) 2005 Ferrari 575M Maranello with a 5.7L/515 HP V-12 engine, and a Black on Silver beautiful 2012 Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Roadster with a 6.2L/563 HP V-8 engine and 7-speed automatic transmission.

Last but not least, a Mecum Muscle Car auction is just not complete without Carroll Shelby’s Cobra holding court. While not entirely authentic, two replicas are set to find new owners at the auction. These include a Hertz Gold 1965 Factory Five Cobra Replica Roadster, boasting a 427 CI engine with a robust 500 HP rating, and a Green 1965 Factory Five Cobra Replica Roadster, which houses a Foxbody fuel-injected 5.0L V-8 engine, paired with side exhaust and Knock wheels.

SPOTLIGHT CAR COLLECTIONS
All in all, a large portion of the cars will come from the car collections of The Montana Car Collection, The George Walker Car Collection, The Holden Grace Car Collection, and The JP Assets Car Collection.
