This event will feature a variety of races, including the Chevrolet INDYCAR Grand Prix, the GTP and GTD PRO classes of the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship, and races featuring up-and-coming drivers in the INDY NXT by Firestone series.
The Chevrolet Detroit Grand Prix 2024 will take place from Friday, May 31, to Sunday, June 2, 2024. The event will feature multiple races and activities throughout these three days on the streets of downtown Detroit.
The Grand Prix will be held on a 1.7-mile street circuit that includes Jefferson Avenue and Atwater Street along Detroit’s Riverfront. The event is not just about racing; it will also offer a festival-like atmosphere with live music, great food, and numerous family-friendly activities.
A key highlight of the weekend will be the INDYCAR race on Sunday, June 2, from 12:30 PM to 2:45 PM ET. Practice sessions and qualifications will take place on Friday and Saturday.
This year, the Grand Prix continues to emphasize sustainability. The 2023 event achieved gold-level certification from the Council for Responsible Sport, and efforts in 2024 aim to build on this by using renewable fuels and eco-friendly tire compounds.
