The Mar-a-Lago Club, the exquisite jewel of Palm Beach, is the breathtaking venue for the sixth annual The Palm Event. Our first-ever show was held on the manicured lawns back in 2015.
And Mar-a-Lago is just one element of The Palm Event weekend. It all starts with our Friday VIP Welcome Party on Palm Beach. The action continues on Saturday with The Palm Event Vintage Rallye where we take-in some of the most scenic roads in and around Palm Beach County.
Throughout the weekend we’ll be raising money for a truly special cause, The Place of Hope. It’s a local non-profit organization dedicated to providing a safe, stable and loving environment for children and families in need.
THE 2021 EVENT IS SCHEDULED FOR MARCH 21ST. EVENTS WILL BE HELD OUTDOORS WITH SANITIZATION STATIONS AND ROOM FOR SOCIAL DISTANCING.

The History of Mar-a-Lago in Palm Beach
Mar-a-Lago is a resort and National Historic Landmark in Palm Beach, Florida, built from 1924 to 1927 by cereal-company heiress and socialite Marjorie Merriweather Post. The 126-room, 62,500 square-foot house contains the Mar-a-Lago Club, a members-only club with guest rooms, a spa, and other hotel-style amenities. It is located on the Palm Beach barrier island, with the Atlantic Ocean to the east and Florida’s Intracoastal Waterway to the west.

At the time of her death in 1973, Post bequeathed the property to the National Park Service, hoping it could be used for state visits or as a Winter White House. However, because the costs of maintaining the property exceeded the funds provided by Post, and it was difficult to secure the facility (as it is located in the flight path of Palm Beach Airport), the property was returned to the Post Foundation by an Act of Congress in 1981. In 1985, Mar-a-Lago was purchased by businessman Donald Trump and his then-wife Ivana Trump was put in charge of running the property.
Trump retained Mar-a-Lago through his two divorces, and his family maintains private quarters in a separate, closed-off area of the house and grounds. Since becoming President, Trump has frequently stayed there, referring to it as the Winter White House and his “Southern White House”. It is the 20th largest mansion in the United States.
