Mecum’s 30th Annual Vintage & Antique Motorcycle Auction in Las Vegas Starts April 28, 2021

The new date for the 30th annual Mecum Motorcycle in Las Vegas will take place on April 28-May 1 at the Las Vegas Convention Center. The auction will feature more than 1,750 vintage and antique motorcycles for a five-day period. The auction was originally scheduled for January 26-31but due to the Covid Virus outbreaks in the greater Las Vegas area, Mucum was forced to reschedule the show. There are many motorcycle enthusiasts that have been anticipating this show.
One of the most exciting motorcycles to be auctioned in April will be the 1917 Excelsior Big X with military forks, a 61 CI V-Twin engine, and a Luxor acetylene headlamp.
Another awesome motorcycle that will be auctioned is the 1952 Harley-Davidson K Model four-speed with a 45 CL engine. It is painted a beautiful Pearl White paint, and the seller just rebuilt the engine. This thing should sell fast
But the main headliner is the Philip Vincent’sV-twin 1950 Vincent Black Lightning. This motorcycle is a legendary bike in motorcycling history. It features a new 70-horsepower engine and has an amazing top speed of 150 mph. There were only 31 cycles ever produced and should garner a hefty sum.
As history shows us, motorcycles have been around since the first 1885 Daimler Reitwagen made by Gottlieb Daimler and Wilhelm Maybach in Germany. The Daimler Reitwagen is considered to be the first internal combustion (iCE) motorcycle. However, the Hildebrand & Wolfmüller, made in 1894, was the first production motorcycle to be manufactured across the planet. Since then, there have been hundreds of different types of motorcycles manufactured and some of them are right here in this upcoming auction.
Some of these Motorcycle Brands and Marques that will be auctioned in July are Ducati, Honda, BMW, Yamaho, Motobi, Triumph, Exelsior, Suzuki, Motobecane, Harley-Davidson, Buell, Rokon, Handy, Coats, Tony Kart, Rickman, BSA, Velocette, MZ, KTM, Norton, Greeves, Champion, Bultaco, MV Augusta, and Zundapp Sachs. All of these motorcycles came from private collections.
In total, there will be over twenty private motorcycle collections auctioned during the entire event. Some of the motorcycle collections for sale include The J.c. Burgin Motorcycle Collection, The Stephenson Collection, The Dick Ray Estate Collection, The Northern California Superbike Collection, The George Schott Collection, From The Estate Of Don Harrell, From The E.j. Cole Estate, The J.c. Burgin Complete Knucklehead Collection, The Sinless Cycles Collection, From The Legends Motorcycle Collection, The Hendricks Collection, East Coast Motorcycle Collection, From A Unknown Private Collection.
If you would like to know more about motorcycle history, put your hands on some antique models, here is a list of the top five motorcycle museums. First is the “Barber Motorsports Museum” in Birmingham Alabama, the second is the “Wheels Through Time Museum” located in Maggie Valley, NC, and the third is the “National Motorcycle Museum” located in Anamosa, IA. . But if you are an American Made fan or Harley Fan, don’t miss the “Harley-Davidson Museum” Milwaukee, Wisconsin and the “AMA Motorcycle Hall of Fame Museum” located in Pickerington, Ohio.
Additional items to be auctioned off are unique motorcycle road art items – such as neon signs. Some neon signs to be auction are LOT Z130 is a Custom Delco Battery Animated Single-Sided Tin Neon Sign, LOT Z131 is a Custom Frontier Single-Sided Animated Tin Neon Sign, and LOT Z132 is a unique Custom Garage Single-Sided Animated Tin Neon Sign.

AUCTION TIMES AND SCHEDULE
SELLER’S CHECK-IN is Monday and Tuesday, April 26-27 from 8 AM until 6 PM
The doors open daily at 8 AM and the gates close one hour after the final motorcycle of the day crosses the block.
MOTORCYCLES TO BE AUCTIONED:
Wednesday through Saturday, April 28-May 1 at 10 AM
ROAD ART TO BE AUCTIONED:
This begins prior to motorcycles April 28-May 1
COVID VIRUS SAFETY PROTOCOLS:
Masks will be mandatory for all Mecum AND EVENT employees, exhibitors and all attendees. Hand sanitizer stations will be conveniently located throughout the Las Vegas entire Convention Center. Frequent hand washing is highly recommended. Daily touch-free temperature screening will be required for all attendees and employees prior to entering the auction grounds. Anyone with a temperature MORE than 100.4 degrees will not be permitted access.
