Mecum will auction over 600 vehicles over three days (valued at over $5 million) in Monterey California during the famed Monterey Car Week from August 12 – August 14, 2021.

Mecum will broadcast the auction for over 15 hours over the NBCSN (Sports Network) and Peacock TV Network from Aug, 12-14, 2021. NBC will also broadcast a special “Main Attraction” and a preview of the vehicles prior to the auction.

Mecum Auctions, which is the world’s largest car collector vehicle auction company, will auction more than 600 consignment vehicles from the Annual three-day Daytime Auction. This auction will be held at the Hyatt Regency Hotel and Spa on Del Monte Golf Course in Monterey California.MECUM AUCTIONS
Collectible cars that will be auctioned will range from prewar classics and vintage muscle cars. Also included are modern supercars, high-end luxury exotics, and over 100 vintage and antique motorcycles.⁠⁠

But, whether you attend, or just watch the broadcast, don’t miss the Featured Event Vehicles. Featured Vehicles are some of the rarest, collectibles, and pricey vehicles to come to be auctioned. The two main attractions at the auction are rare one-of-a-kind cars that are sure to bring a very big dollar.

MUST SEE CAR NUMBER #1
.

The first “Must See Car” is this rare “1936 Delahaye Type 135 Competition Court Teardrop Coupe” with Coachwork by Figoni et Falaschi. This Coupe is only one-of-six Delahaye examples to be manufactured in this style. It sports an elegant 1930’s art deco style and a right-hand drive Lightweight “Goutte D’Eau” style and sunroof. Additionally, it is the only 1936 Delahaye Type 135 with headlamps integrated in between the front fenders.

To Be Auctioned At The As A Main Featured Car Is The Hyper-rare 1936 Delahaye Type 135 Competition Court Teardrop CoupeThis Delahaye won many awards including a Class Award at the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance in 2001. Additionally, it garnered The “Best of Show” at the 2003 Indianapolis Celebration of Automobiles,  The “Best of Show” at the 2003 Texas Concours d’Elegance and the “Best of Show”, and “People’s Choice” at the Ontario 2014 Cobble Beach Concours d’Elegance,

With Chassis No. 47242, this rare collectible car should sell between five and six million dollars and the Mecum auction.


MUST SEE CAR NUMBER #2.

A second main attraction up for auction is a  This Cobra SC 427 was listed as the last concept car to be designed with Carol Shelby and referred to as the “Last Shelby Cobra” It is estimated to sell for between $2 to $3 million dollars.

This Cobra SC Debuted at the Detroit North American International Auto Show and was awarded “Best in Show” by Autoweek magazine in 2001. This Cobra SC came from Ford’s desire to create an ultimate Cobra package. But as with most American Car Companies, politics intervened, and the light went out. This is the only one to ever be produced.

The car world has lived up to the Cobra Name. Under the hood is a powerful 6.4-liter V10 engine that produces 605 HP. It supports itself with a front and rear suspension from the 2005 Ford GT and comes with a power-assisted rack-and-pinion steering system, Brembo custom disc brakes, and BF Goodrich Racing Rubber that read “Not for use on public roads.”

A third contender is the “SFM5R538” This car was the winningest 1965 Shelby GT350R Fastback ever to be built, One of only 36 factory competition models ever built and this should sell for over $1million.This Shebly won 17 straight wins from 1968-1969 with Charlie Kemp driving the car.  Through 1971, Kemp entered 54 races, finished 42, and won 32 Ran at a clocked 184 MPH at Daytona at 1968, the highest speed is known for any 289-powered Shelby.

A Must See Car T Be Auctioned Is “The Winningest Shelby Ever” a 1965 Shelby GT350R Fastback SFM5R538

This Shelby has a one of a kind build including a  289/325 HP V-8 engine, Holley 4-barrel carburetor
Cobra high-rise intake manifold, Tri-Y headers, Oil cooler, and high capacity radiators, and a Borg-Warner T10 4-speed manual transmission to spin the tires.

Two groups of cars that may dominate the auction are the Corvette’s and Porsche’s.

Beyond the Featured Main Event:
Many more collector cars will be auctioned by Mecum in August. “This year’s Monterey Mecum Auction will be heavy on Corvette’s and Porsche’s”, says John Kraman Mecums’ spokesperson at public events. “Vehicles to be offered range from prewar classics and vintage muscle cars to luxury and high-end exotics, modern supercars and more, along with approximately 100 vintage and antique motorcycles”  “Come out early to look at all the cars, tickets are only $20 in advance and $30 the day of the auction (Kids are Free) and bidders pass is $200.” Kraman continues, “This is a return to Monterey after not being there last year but there 12 years.”

This is Monterey Car Week’s only Daytime Auction, It includes the sale of over 600 vehicles and over 100 vintage motorcycles.  Vehicle price range from $5,000 to $5,000,000. The auction is a three-day event and will be broadcast live on both the Peacock Network and NBCSN Broadcast Network.
