The Gooding & Company Auction and The Concours of Elegance Return To London’s Hampton Court Palace On September 3, 2022
September 3, 2022 @ 9:00 am - 5:00 pm
FreeGooding & Company will return to London, where it will hold a World Class Auction at Hampton Court Palace on September 3, 2022. The auction will run concurrent to the Concours of Elegance at Hampton, which takes place September 2-4, 2022 at the Hampton Court Palace.
The cars to be auctioned are some of the most historically significant European car examples and marques to be manufactured over the past 120 years. The cars included such famous marques as Bentley, Rolls-Royce, Bugatti, Ferrari, Porsche, and Jaguar—just to name a few.
The auction includes a total of over forty-two ultra-fine European manufactured cars. The selling price will range from £7,000,000 to just under £1,000,000. Four of the most valuable cars are expected to bring in a lion’s share of the auction totals. These cars include an Aston Martin DB5, a Rolls-Royce Silver Ghost, a Bugatti Type 5, and a Ferrari 250 GT SWB Berlinetta.
Of these cars, the 1965 Aston Martin DB5 Convertible is expected to sell for between £1,250,000 – £1,750,000, and an antique 1912 Rolls-Royce 40/50 HP Silver Ghost Tourer should sell for between £2,500,000 – £3,000,000.
But the two top-selling cars are expected to be this rare one-of-a-kind 1932 Bugatti Type 55 Cabriolet, listed for £3,750,000 – £4,750,000, and this 1960 Ferrari 250 GT SWB Berlinetta Competizione (Coachwork by Scaglietti) coming in at £6,000,000 – £7,000,000.
The auction will take place on Saturday, September 3, 2022, at Hampton Court Palace, Address: 12A Hampton Court Way, Molesey, England GB.
The cars to be auctioned will be on display during the first day of “The Concours of Elegance” at Hampton Court Palace and in the morning of the auction at the Gooding & Company location.
The “The Concours of Elegance” is scheduled for September 1-3 from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 pm.
The “The Concours of Elegance” and the Auction will be broadcast live on YouTube and through Gooding & Company’s website. The YouTube channel also offers mobile apps for iOS and Android Live Broadcast options.
ABOUT THE HAMPTON COURT PALACE
The Hampton Court, also called Hampton Court Palace, was the home of Henry VIII and the Tudor Dynasty of a 500-year-old royalty pleasure palace including 60 acres of magnificent gardens. The original Tudor Hampton Court Palace was begun by Cardinal Wolsey in the early 16th century, but it soon attracted the attention of Henry VIII, who brought all his six wives here. Surrounded by gorgeous gardens and famous features such as the Maze and the Great Vine, the palace has been the setting for many nationally important events. (Reference HAMPTON COURT PALACE WEBSITE)
