This 1955 Mercedes-Benz 300 SL Gullwing Coupe from The Academy of Art University Collection hits the auction block on February 15, 2025, with an estimated price of $1,200,000 – $1,500,000—offered without reserve.
This collection has been carefully curated over several decades and was first assembled by Dr. Richard Alan Stephens, the longtime President of the Academy of Art University and a passionate automotive enthusiast.
His daughter, Dr. Elisa Stephens, later continued his vision, preserving and expanding the collection as part of the Academy of Art University Automobile Museum.
Now, these remarkable cars are being made available to collectors who share the same passion for automotive history and craftsmanship.
