The 2026 show will feature approximately 500 vehicles distributed among collector classes, enthusiast corrals, special displays, and marque-focused gatherings.

The range of automobiles can extend from pre-war classics and historically significant collector cars to competition cars, unusual specialty vehicles, modern performance cars, exotics, and contemporary supercars.

Organizers review vehicle applications before accepting cars into the show, helping create a varied field rather than simply filling spaces on a first-arrival basis.

Why Artomobilia Is Different From a Traditional Concours

Artomobilia includes curated collector-car classes and awards, but it does not operate exactly like a traditional concours d’elegance.

Select classes may be judged, while other vehicles are displayed in less formal enthusiast corrals or marque-specific groups.

The emphasis is placed on the presentation, quality, history, and stories behind the automobiles rather than making formal concours judging the sole focus of the event.

That format gives visitors an opportunity to see historically important automobiles alongside cars owned and driven by local and regional enthusiasts.

For collectors, it also creates a setting where owners, club members, restorers, dealers, specialists, and enthusiasts can meet throughout the day.

Nearly 500 Cars Take Over Downtown Carmel

For 2026, Artomobilia is expanding its footprint across both the Carmel Arts & Design District and Carmel Midtown.

The display extends along portions of North Rangeline Road, Main Street, and Monon Boulevard, creating a walkable automotive show that connects the two downtown districts.

The expanded layout provides additional room for automobiles while also connecting visitors with Carmel’s restaurants, galleries, shops, and other businesses.

The result is closer to a downtown automotive festival than a conventional car show confined to a parking lot or show field.

Collector Classes, Corrals, and Paloozas

Understanding Artomobilia is easier if visitors think of the event as several different automotive shows operating together.

Collector Classes are curated groups typically organized around an era, marque, vehicle type, or theme.

Corrals provide a somewhat less formal setting for groups of enthusiast-owned cars and automotive communities.

Then there are the Paloozas, which are large marque-focused displays dedicated to specific manufacturers.

Four major Palooza gatherings are scheduled to take place alongside Artomobilia on August 29.

Präzision-Palooza Brings Together Generations of Porsche

Porsche enthusiasts will find their own large gathering at Präzision-Palooza, presented along North Rangeline Road in the Carmel Arts & Design District.

The Porsche display celebrates more than 75 years of the marque and is expected to include cars ranging from early Porsche 356 models to contemporary high-performance cars and supercars.

Präzision-Palooza runs concurrently with Artomobilia from 11:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m.

Lotus-Palooza Comes to Carmel Midtown

Lotus-Palooza will occupy part of Carmel Midtown and focus on automobiles built around Lotus founder Colin Chapman’s emphasis on low weight, balance, and efficient performance.

The display will include a collection of Lotus sports cars representing the company’s road and competition-inspired engineering history.

Lotus-Palooza will be held at Carmel Midtown, with the organizer listing 365 Monon Boulevard as the location.

BMW-Palooza Celebrates BMW Performance

BMW will also receive its own dedicated gathering during Artomobilia.

BMW-Palooza is scheduled for Carmel Midtown and will feature vehicles ranging from classic BMW sport sedans and coupes to M performance models and newer automobiles.

BMW-Palooza runs from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., allowing visitors to move between the BMW and Lotus displays and the main Artomobilia collection.

Mercedes-Palooza Adds More Than 50 Mercedes-Benz Vehicles

The Carmel Arts & Design District will also host Mercedes-Palooza, another major marque-specific component of the show.

Organizers say more than 50 Mercedes-Benz automobiles are expected, including heritage classics, collector cars, roadsters, enthusiast vehicles, and modern performance models.

Mercedes-Palooza also takes place from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Artomobilia Weekend Starts on Friday

Although the main public Artomobilia show is Saturday, the larger automotive weekend begins a day earlier.

On Friday, August 28, the Porsche Classic Restoration Challenge is scheduled from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Motor District.

The event highlights restored Porsche automobiles and the work involved in preserving and rebuilding historically significant cars.

Later Friday evening, the Veloce Hangar Party takes place from 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. at Jet Access at Indianapolis Executive Airport.

Veloce combines approximately 50 performance automobiles with private aircraft, food, drinks, live music, and hospitality. Unlike the Saturday Artomobilia show, Veloce is a separate premium event requiring admission.

Artistry & Elegance Ladies’ Luncheon

A separate Artistry & Elegance Ladies’ Luncheon is also scheduled during Saturday’s festivities.

The luncheon runs from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Matador Restaurant and combines dining, entertainment, and conversation while supporting programs of St. Mary’s Early Childhood Center.

This is a separate experience from general spectator admission to Artomobilia.

A Collector-Car Festival in the Middle of the City

One of Artomobilia’s distinguishing characteristics is its location.

Instead of asking spectators to remain inside a dedicated show venue, the event incorporates the surrounding Carmel Arts & Design District and Midtown into the experience.

Visitors can walk between collector-car classes, manufacturer displays, restaurants, galleries, shops, and specialty automotive gatherings throughout the day.

Food vendors and local restaurants are available throughout the district, and the event area is designed to be accessible and family-friendly.
