When the local “Glenmoor Gathering Auto Show” was canceled nine years ago\, the two friends saw an opportunity to create something new. Drawing on tremendous local support\, they launched the Molto Bella Car Show as a heartfelt tribute to Frank’s father and his passion for cars. \nThe event honors Frank’s late father\, who passed away from kidney cancer several years ago. This personal loss inspired Frank to ensure that all proceeds from the show benefit the Summit County Kidney Foundation\, a cause close to his heart. \nMore than just a traditional Concours d’Elegance\, the Molto Bella Car Show goes beyond featuring cars solely based on rarity\, authenticity\, and condition. Instead\, it highlights an eclectic mix of top-level “eyeball candy” collectibles—cars that may not meet Concours standards but are nonetheless some of the most sought-after and visually captivating vehicles in the world. \nCo-Owner Frank explains\, “It’s all about the kind of cars and the mix of cars we pick\, not just Concours. Hot rods\, touring cars\, electric cars\, movie cars\, unique cars with unique histories are all part of the mix.” He continues\, “Our music is also designed to get away from the Beach Boys stuff you normally hear at cruises\,” he continues. “We have a great selection of the blues playing\, cigars for people who enjoy smoking\, great food and a professionally laid-out space for the cars. Finally\, there is no judging. People love not to be judged. Your car is your trophy … what more could you possibly need?” \n\nSponsorship and Local Community Support for the Event\nSponsors include Cornell Tools\, the Kidney Foundation of Ohio\, Summit Racing Equipment\, FirstEnergy\, Montrose Ford of Fairlawn\, Westside Jaguar\, Maserati of Akron\, Alfa Romeo\, BMW of Akron\, Volkswagen of Akron\, Cell-O-Core\, Mercedes-Benz of Akron\, J.W. SUMMARY:Detroit Concours d’Elegance 2025 Canceled: Will Hagerty Bring It Back\, and Why Its Loss Matters to the Motor City
DESCRIPTION:The Hagerty Detroit Concours d’Elegance has been canceled for 2025. The decision to cancel the event was made by Hagerty\, which had been managing the event since 2022 when they moved it to Detroit from its previous location at the St. John’s golf course in Plymouth\, Michigan. \nThe cancellation was partly due to challenges in attracting sufficient sponsor support and quality vehicles for the show. Despite its cancellation\, Hagerty remains committed to other events\, like RADwood\, which is still scheduled to take place on September 14\, 2025\, at Hart Plaza. \nThe Hagerty Detroit Concours d’Elegance at the Detroit Art Institute has been canceled for 2025 with no plans for a new start date. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nRadwood At Hart Plaza Downtown Detroit – CANCELLED!!! \n\nDetroit’s Concours Story: How the Motor City’s Automotive Heritage Was Once Celebrated and Why Its Loss Still Matters\nDetroit’s Lost Concours Story: A Tradition Silenced!!!\nThe cancellation of the Detroit Concours d’Elegance is more than the disappearance of an event from the calendar—it is the loss of a tradition that connected Detroit to its proud automotive soul. In a city that gave the world the automobile\, to be left without even a single concours is nothing short of tragic. \nIt is not simply the end of a show; it is the quieting of a heritage that once stood tall as the heartbeat of the Motor City. \nDetroit has always been more than just another city. It was here that Henry Ford perfected the assembly line\, turning the Model T into a machine for the masses and changing the course of modern life. \n \nFrom Detroit rolled out the great marques that defined entire eras: Cadillac’s elegance\, Dodge’s toughness\, Chrysler’s ingenuity\, and GM’s vast portfolio of innovation. \nThe automobile built Detroit\, and Detroit built the automobile. For that reason alone\, it seems unthinkable that the city no longer has a concours to honor its legacy. \n\nThe History of Detroit’s Concours\nTo understand the weight of this cancellation\, one must return to the origins of Detroit’s concours tradition. It began in 1979 with the Meadow Brook Concours d’Elegance\, held on the sprawling grounds of the historic Meadow Brook Hall in Rochester\, Michigan. \nBuilt between 1926 and 1929 by Matilda Dodge Wilson\, widow of auto pioneer John Dodge (yes\, Dodge cars)\, Meadow Brook Hall was a fitting backdrop for a grand Concours d’Elegance and a celebration of the automobile. \nIts Tudor-revival architecture\, manicured lawns\, and connection to the Dodge family made it a venue steeped in automotive history. \nMeadow Brook Hall in Rochester\, Michigan\, was built between 1926 and 1929 by Matilda Dodge Wilson\, widow of automobile pioneer John Dodge\, and her second husband\, Alfred Wilson. Constructed for $4 million\, it is a 110-room\, 88\,000-square-foot example of Tudor Revival architecture\, and is now a National Historic Landmark. \nThe Meadow Brook Concours quickly grew into one of the nation’s most prestigious shows\, often considered on par with Pebble Beach. Rare classics\, brass-era automobiles\, and one-off concept cars lined the estate\, while the event itself expanded into a weekend-long lifestyle experience. \nFor collectors and enthusiasts\, it became a pilgrimage—a place where history\, elegance\, and community merged. \nIn 2011\, the event moved from Meadow Brook to The Inn at St. John’s in Plymouth\, Michigan\, adopting the new name Concours d’Elegance of America. Though the setting changed\, the purpose remained: to showcase the finest automobiles ever created and to celebrate Detroit’s unmatched role in shaping automotive history. \nFor a decade\, the Concours d’Elegance of America carried on this tradition\, drawing crowds and world-class cars to Michigan each summer. \n\nHagerty’s Ownership\nWhen Traverse City-based specialty auto insurance company Hagerty assumed ownership in 2021\, many hoped the company would carry forward Detroit’s Concours tradition as it was moved downtown to the Detroit Institute of Arts. \nAs an insurance and lifestyle brand\, Hagerty has done much to promote automotive enthusiasm\, but the Detroit Concours was different. \nHoused in the Detroit Institute of Arts\, Diego Rivera’s monumental Detroit Industry Murals are recognized worldwide as symbols of Detroit’s legacy as the Motor City and a global center of industrial and automotive innovation \nThe Detroit Concours was never meant to be just another weekend car show. Its relocation to the Detroit Institute of Arts gave it profound cultural weight\, staged in the shadow of Diego Rivera’s world-famous 1933 Detroit Industry Murals. Few venues could better symbolize the Motor City’s unmatched legacy in car culture and automotive history. \nInstead\, the event lost its identity. In an effort to appeal to a younger audience\, new categories were introduced—RADwood for 1980s and 1990s cars\, Concours d’Lemons for oddball vehicles\, along with youth-focused activities such as Ride & Drive and Youth Judging \nThese programs had merit in the broader car culture\, but in Detroit they felt out of place. The Detroit Concours shifted away from honoring automotive ledgions such as of Cadillac\, Chrysler\, Dodge\, and Ford\, and toward chasing trends that diluted the show’s purpose. \nHagerty may be an expert at insuring cars and building lifestyle products\, but shepherding an event of such historical weight required more than marketing tactics. It required an understanding of Detroit itself—its heritage\, its triumphs\, its struggles\, and its standing as the auto capital of the world. \nBy canceling the Detroit Concours only a few years after its downtown debut\, Hagerty revealed it never truly understood what this event meant\, not only to collectors but to the city that gave birth to the automobile industry. \nThe decision was more than unfortunate—it diminished Detroit’s standing as the epicenter of automotive culture\, leaving the Motor City\, of all places\, without a concours to honor its history. In the end\, the cancellation reflected not a lack of passion among enthusiasts\, but a lack of vision at the top. \nEyesOn Design\, hosted each Father’s Day at the Edsel & Eleanor Ford House\, celebrates Detroit’s legacy of automotive design \nYet\, perhaps the saving grace for metro Detroit is the EyesOn Design Car Show\, held each Father’s Day at the historic Edsel & Eleanor Ford House in Grosse Pointe Shores. Unlike the concours\, this long-standing event continues to celebrate automotive design excellence\, providing the region with at least one showcase that honors Detroit’s creative spirit and connection to the automobile. \n\nThe Downtown Debut\nIn 2021\, Hagerty rebranded the Concours d’Elegance of America as the Detroit Concours d’Elegance and moved it into the heart of the city. The Detroit Institute of Arts provided a dramatic backdrop\, and for a brief moment it seemed as if the concours might become a crown jewel for Detroit—a cultural festival worthy of the Motor City’s proud heritage. \nDetroit Concours dElegance 2023 at Detroit Institute of Arts (DIA) on Woodward Downtown Detroit \nBut just a few short years later\, the Detroit Concours was gone. Its quiet cancellation leaves a void that feels larger than the event itself. It marks the end of a lineage that stretched from the grandeur of Meadow Brook Hall\, to the decade at St. John’s\, to the brief attempt at reinvention downtown. \nEach iteration reflected a city trying to preserve and celebrate its automotive legacy. Now\, that continuity is broken\, and with it\, a vital piece of Detroit’s story risks being forgotten. \n\nA Stark Contrast\nThe irony is unavoidable. Hagerty continues to oversee other world-class concours events—Pebble Beach Concoursd’Elegance\, Amelia Island Concours \, and Greenwich Concours among them—all of which thrive under their stewardship\, drawing collectors and enthusiasts from across the globe. \nYet Detroit\, the very birthplace of the automobile\, has been left behind. Nowhere else carries the same historical weight\, yet it is Detroit that no longer has a concours to call its own. \nThis stark contrast underscores the inadequacy of Hagerty’s vision for Detroit. What flourishes elsewhere has been allowed to wither here\, in the one city where such a celebration should be considered sacred. \nFor Detroit—the Motor City\, the global symbol of automotive innovation—the loss of its concours is more than an organizational failure. It is a cultural and automotive heritage wound. \nThe Detroit Concours was more than an event; it was a mirror reflecting Detroit’s automotive dominance\, heritage\, pedigree\, and culture. \nFrom the historic Dodge Estate at Meadow Brook Hall to the urban streets near the Detroit Institute of Arts\, it stood as a living reminder of what the automobile means. \nNot only to the city of Detroit\, but also to America and to the world. Its cancellation is a silence we should not accept lightly. \n \nDetroit deserves better. This is the city where Henry Ford built his first automobile\, the Quadricycle\, in 1896 in a small shed on Bagley Avenue. From that humble beginning\, Detroit became the automotive capital of the world\, home to Cadillac\, Chrysler\, Dodge\, and General Motors. \nA city with such a legacy deserves to celebrate it—not with faint memories\, but with a concours that honors its past\, inspires its present\, and secures its place in the future of automotive culture. Until that happens\, the loss of Detroit’s concours will remain a wound in the history of car collecting and a reminder of just how fragile even the proudest traditions can be.. \n\n\n—- End —-

Your safety is our concern.” \nThe Cadillac luxury brand was founded in 1902 and named after Antoine de la Mothe Cadillac\, the founder of Detroit. The iconic Cadillac visual identity is instantly recognizable and is still based on the original brand’s logo from 1906. The famous logo was redesigned about 30 times since 1902. \nThe first Cadillac logo was designed in 1902 and featured a crest with swans and parallel lines\, with a crown on top and an ornate circle framing. The crest was inspired by the Detroit founder’s cat of arms. The wordmark “La Mothe Cadillac” was placed on the bottom part of the logo. The trademark was registered in 1906. \nA symbol of excellence redesigned\, it is inspired by the work of Piet Mondrian\, a European artist known as a very prominent geometric painter of the 1900s. \nThe crest of Cadillac was a design inspired by the French adventurer Antoine de la Mothe\, Sieur de Cadillac’s coat of arms. He is noted in 1701 for the founding of the city of Detroit and is said to be an ancestor of Henry Leland\, founder of Cadillac. SUMMARY:Scarsdale Concours d’Elegance Annual Car Show in Scarsdale\, NY On Oct. 5\, 2025
DESCRIPTION:(Updated Aug. 31\, 2025) – The Scarsdale Concours d’Elegance & Car Show returns on Sunday\, October 5\, 2025\, in the Town Center of Scarsdale\, New York. The event will showcase over 150 classic\, vintage\, and exotic vehicles\, ranging from Ferrari to Rolls-Royce\, in a setting that combines automotive elegance with community charm. \nGuests can expect a day filled with more than cars—there will be live music\, vendor booths\, great food\, and social activities tailored for families\, collectors\, and enthusiasts alike. \n\nThe show is a fundraiser for charity\, helping organizations such as the Paulie Strong Foundation and the Scarsdale Police Department\,  as well as other local organizations from Westchester\, and also Habitat for Humanity. Funds are generated from donations from sponsors\, donations from participants\, and voluntary admission donations. \nSince 2004\, the show has raised over $350\,000 for charity. (reference) \n \n  \n\nCAR SHOW HISTORY \nThe Scarsdale Concours Car Show was started in 2003 by 2 students from Scarsdale High School out of their passion for cars. \nThe Concours Founders state\, “Since 2003\, we have raised over $350k. It has now become Westchester County’s Premier Auto Show featuring antique\, classic\, and exotic automobiles to benefit local charities.” \nNow in its 22th year\, the show was created in response to three ideas of the founders. \n\nA strong desire to showcase Scarsdale students as part of a constructive and giving community.\nA genuine passion for great classic cars both new and vintage\,\nThe opportunity to raise significant amounts of money for local charities.\n\nIn the fall of 2003\, the two founders talked about creating something car-themed and worthwhile\, involving a passionate love of cars. Soon after\, the simple idea of a car show quickly turned into the first Concours. Today\, it is known as the “Scarsdale Concours d’Elegance & Car Show”. \n \n“Annual Scarsdale Car Show Located in Downtown Scarsdale\, New York” \nEveryone with whom they spoke loved the idea\, and they received active support from numerous constituencies\, including the police\, local government\, local merchants\, and car collectors near and far. The event serves as a great lesson that anything is possible. \nBut the Concourse became more than a car show featuring classic cars and car collections. It became a major fundraiser. \nOver the past 16 years\, the event has raised over $430\,000.00 for charities across Westchester County. With Evan and Denis now pursuing business careers\, a group of accomplished local car enthusiasts has assumed responsibility for the event to ensure that the legacy established by Evan and Denis will continue for many years. \nEach year\, the board has continued to evolve\, with the torch passing from the graduating seniors to the younger high school students. With the same enthusiasm\, the current students strive to put on an exciting and memorable show that benefits the local community and area charities\, which brings valuable services to those in need. \n \nThe current Scarsdale Concours d’Elegance board of directors includes numerous car enthusiasts and father-son teams who share the passion and drive for vintage cars and a desire to give back to the local community. The Scarsdale Concours & Car Show members wish to sincerely thank the car show owners\, the official Concours sponsors\, the local advertisers\, and\, of course\, all the attendees\, as Evan states\, “as they are the heart of the show!” \nWith that clearly in their young minds\, in 2003\, two Scarsdale High School sophomores\, Evan M. Cygler and Dennis O’Leary III\, launched the Scarsdale Concours d’Elegance with the help of the Scarsdale Police Department and the enthusiastic approval of village officials. \nEvan and Dennis say\, “The Annual Scarsdale Concours d’Elegance will bring vintage and exotic cars together in a show that collectors and car enthusiasts can both enjoy. There will be great food\, live music\, spectacular displays\, and so much more!” \nScarsdale Concours D’Elegance \n\nEVENT LOCATION & DETAILS \n\nSee you on Sunday\, October 5\, 2025\nShow Hours: 10:00 am to 3:30 pm\nAdmission: Suggested Donation $15 (Donate here)\nSCARSDALE FACEBOOK LINK\n\nLOCATION OF CAR SHOW \nThe event will take place in the heart of Scarsdale Village\, on the corner of Chase Rd and Christie Place in Scarsdale\, New York.
