DESCRIPTION:Mecum Monterey will auction over 600 classic and vintage cars during Monterey Car Week and broadcast the event live over the MotorTrend Broadcast Network from August 14-16\, 2025. \nThis year’s auction will feature eight private car collections as well as hundreds of carefully curated vintage muscle cars\, high-end supercars\, exotic cars\, rare sports cars\, pre-war classic cars\, and classic motorcycles. \nThe Mecum Auction Monterey will take place over three days at the Hyatt Regency Monterey Hotel from August 14-19\,6 2025. Tickets for the auction are open to everyone and are now on sale on the Mecum website for $20 in advance online\, or $30 at the gate. \nAbove are two vintage collector cars that will be on the block at the Mecum Monterey Auction. The first is a 1966 Chevrolet Corvette Race Car powered by a 427 CI L88 V-8\, Campaigned by Alan Green Chevrolet and Raced by Gary Gove in SCCA Competition. The second is a rare 1963 Mercedes-Benz 300SL Roadster with a 3.0L Inline-6\, Aluminum Alloy Block Engine\, and 4-Speed Transmission\, only 1 of 209 produced. \nNew this year\, Mecum will feature an innovative\, first-of-its-kind tech-focused automotive event called The Monterey Motorsports Festival (MMF). The event promises to captivate automotive enthusiasts through new immersive and engaging experiences. The MMF will take place all day (11 am-10pm) on August 19th\, 2023. (Details of the event are listed below) \n  \nHere are two American sports car icons: On the left is a silver 2004 Dodge Viper SRT-10 Convertible with an 8.3L/500 HP V-10 engine and a 6-Speed Tremec transmission. On the right is a 2023 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 Coupe with the Z07 package\, which includes a powerful 5.5L/670 HP V-8 engine estimated to sell for between $275\,000 and $325\,000. \nThe three-day auction will feature approximately 600 automobiles\, but the majority of the most outstanding vehicles will come from eight individual collections. The following are the top car collections for sale: \n\nVeloce\, Schnell & Fast Sports Car Collection: This collection boasts over 25 world-class vintage sports cars imported from the finest factories worldwide. It features Ferraris\, Austin-Healey’s\, Porsches\, and more\, with a high concentration of classics from the ’50s and ’60s.\nThe Santa Cruz Motorcycle Collection.: This collection includes three significant and rare motorcycles. Among them are a one-of-four 1915 Indian 8-Valve\, a 1918 Henderson Four in original paint and remarkable condition\, and a low-production 1942 Indian Chief.\nFrom the Tom Brennan Car Collection: This collection comprises a trio of documented vintage Porsche race cars specified for SCCA-sanctioned racing\, including a rare demonstrator and a factory-built special.\nFrom the Doug and Christine Dressler Collection: This collection features a handful of ’50s-era classics\, including two of the favorite flared and finned Adventurers built by the now-defunct DeSoto\, along with two of Chrysler’s coveted New Yorker line.\nThe Reggie Jackson Collection: This collection\, from the private collection of former Major League Baseball right fielder and Hall of Fame inductee Reggie Jackson\, includes Corvettes\, Camaro Z28s\, and other high-performance and muscle car classics.\nThe Don Williams Estate Collection: This collection features consummate classics\, including Packards\, Rolls-Royces\, Cadillacs\, and more from both the pre and postwar automotive eras\, all elegantly assembled.\nThe Northwest Collection: This unique collection includes a selection of vintage Fords and a lone 1946 Mercury Woody\, all slated for the Monterey auction stage.\nThe Mike and Debbie Rogers Datsun Car Collection: This collection features eight vintage and special-edition variations of the venerable Model Z line\, making it a unique collection of rare Datsun’s.\n\n\nFEATURED CAR COLLECTIONS\nOne of the featured car collections up for auction in Monterey that will offer a larger selection of rare Ferraris is The Veloce\, Schnell & Fast Sports Car Collection. This collection includes approximately 25 car total including a good number of extremely rare Ferraris\, Porsches\, and Austin-Healeys – but also includes other collectibles. The majority of the collection consists of twelve extremely rare Ferraris\, with valuations well in excess of a million dollars. \nThree of the most impressive cars in the Veloce collection include a 1965 Ferrari 500 Superfast Series II\, listed at $2\,000\,000 – $2\,500\,000\, a 1963 Ferrari 400 Superamerica Series II\, priced between $2\,850\,000 – $3\,100\,000\, and a 1968 Ferrari 330 GTS expected to sell for $1\,800\,000 – $2\,200\,000. \nAbove are two extremely rare Ferraris that are expected to sell at the Mecum Monterey Auction. On the left is a 1963 Ferrari 400 Superamerica Series II with a long wheelbase and body by Pininfarina (only one of 22 long-wheelbase cars ever produced). On the right is a 1965 Ferrari 500 Superfast Series II\, also built by Pininfarina (one of only 36 ever manufactured). \n\nFEATURED AUCTION VEHICLE \nOne of the highlights of the auction is the 1937 Mercedes-Benz 540K Special Roadster\, which is no stranger to Monterey Car Week and The Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance. Back in 2011\, the 540K Roadster was a main attraction in Pebble Beach and was prominently displayed at the event. \nThe extremely rare red 1937 Mercedes-Benz 540K Special Roadster was showcased at the 2011 Pebble Beach Concours and prominently featured in Jan Melin’s Book “The Supercharged 8-Cylinder Cars”. It is only 1 of 149 ever built and is priced to sell at the Mecum Monterey Auction for between $3\,500\,000 – $4\,500\,000. \nThe 1937 Mercedes-Benz 540K Special Roadster is one of the most iconic and coveted cars of the pre-war era. This luxurious and powerful vehicle exudes elegance and style. The 540K Special Roadster was produced in limited quantities\, making it even more rare and desirable. \nThis particular one-off 540K Roadster is part of the Don Williams Estate Car Collection. And rare\, you bet!  This luxury classic was previously part of the Imperial Palace Auto Car Collection and the General William Lyon Collection.
