(Updated Aug. 21 2023) The Annual Scarsdale Concours d’Elegance & Car Show will take place this year on October 1st, 2023 in the Town Center of Scarsdale, New York. The car show will feature over 100 classic, vintage, and exotic vehicles ranging from Ferrari to Rolls Royce.

Also, the event will offer entertainment and social activities for families, car enthusiasts, and car collectors alike. At the show, you will find plenty of great food, live music, and 100’s of classic show cars on display.

The show is a fundraiser for charity, helping organizations such as the Paulie Strong Foundation and the Scarsdale Police Department,  as well as other local organizations from Westchester, and also Habitat for Humanity. Funds are generated from donations from sponsors, donations from participants, and voluntary admission donations. Since 2004, the show has raised over $350,000 for charity. (reference)

 

CAR SHOW HISTORY

The Scarsdale Concours Car Show was started in 2003 by 2 students from Scarsdale High School out of their passion for cars. The Concours Founders state, “Since 2003, we have raised over $350k. It has now become Westchester County’s Premier Auto Show featuring antique, classic, and exotic automobiles to benefit local charities.”

Now in its 17th year, the show was originally created in response to three ideas of the founders.

1. A strong desire to showcase Scarsdale students as part of a constructive and giving community.
2. A genuine passion for great classic cars both new and vintage,
3. The opportunity to raise significant amounts of money for local charities.

 

In the fall of 2003, the two founders were talking about creating something car-themed and worthwhile involving a passionate love of cars. Soon after, the simple idea of a car show quickly turned into the first Concours. Today it is known as the “Scarsdale Concours d’Elegance & Car Show”.

Everyone with whom they spoke loved the idea, and they received active support from numerous constituencies, including the police, local government, local merchants, and car collectors near and far. The event serves as a great lesson that anything is possible.

But the Concourse became more than a car show featuring classic cars and car collections. It became a major fundraiser.

Over the past 16 years, the event has raised over $430,000.00 for charities across Westchester County. With Evan and Denis now pursuing business careers, a group of accomplished local car enthusiasts has assumed responsibility for the event to ensure that the legacy established by Evan and Denis will continue for many years.

Each year, the board has continued to evolve, with the torch passing from the graduating seniors to the younger high school students. With the same enthusiasm, the current students strive to put on an exciting and memorable show that benefits the local community and area charities, which brings valuable services to those in need.

The current Scarsdale Concours d’Elegance board of directors includes numerous car enthusiasts and father-son teams who share the passion and drive for vintage cars and a desire to give back to the local community. The Scarsdale Concours & Car Show members wish to sincerely thank the car show owners, the official Concours sponsors, the local advertisers, and, of course, all the attendees, as Evan states, “as they are the heart of the show!”

With that clearly in their young minds, in 2003, two Scarsdale High School sophomores, Evan M. Cygler and Dennis O’Leary III, launched the Scarsdale Concours d’Elegance with the help of the Scarsdale Police Department and the enthusiastic approval of village officials.

Evan and Dennis say, “The Annual Scarsdale Concours d’Elegance will bring vintage and exotic cars together in a show that collectors and car enthusiasts can both enjoy. There will be great food, live music, spectacular displays, and so much more!”

The event will take place in the heart of Scarsdale Village, on the corner of Chase Rd and Christie Place in Scarsdale, New York. The city of Scarsdale is easily accessible from anywhere in the tri-state area. The main crossroads are Chase Rd and Christie Place Scarsdale, New York.

DIRECTIONS

Coming from the South via Hutchinson River Parkway: Hutchinson River Parkway north to Weaver Street Exit 21. Right off the exit onto Hutchinson Road. At the light, turn right onto Weaver. Take Weaver to the five-cornered intersection, bear left onto Heathcote Road. At the end of Heathcote Road. Straight through the intersection with White Plains Post Rd 22 onto Crane Road; approximately 1/4 mile from the end of Crane, turn left into Scarsdale Village on East Parkway.
