The Geneva Concours d’Elegance Is The Most Underrated Car Show Just Outside Chicago

(Updated: July 29, 2023) — Since 2005, the Geneva Concours d’Elegance has been a unique opportunity to come face-to-face with hundreds of the most historically significant vehicles ever made. This year, the event promises to host over 2,000 car-loving guests in Geneva, Illinois-just 32 miles west of Chicago-on August 27, 2023.
More than 200 antique automobiles from the 1900s through the 1960s are on display at the Concours. Additionally, the event includes both new and classic supercars and exotic vehicles.
More specifically, this year, the show will celebrate a special display featuring the Springfield Rolls-Royce, Lincoln Continental, and Tuner Cars from the Fast and Furious movies.
Other featured car classes will include Microcars that meet the need, “Classic Cars of the Era”, and a special celebration for 75 Years of SCCA Race Cars in Chicago.

Class marques to be featured this year include the 100th Anniversary Springfield Rolls Royce and Edsel Ford’s Dream Car, the Ford Continental.

FACTOID: Owners of the Springfield Rolls-Royces include President Woodrow Wilson, the Guggenheim and Bloomindale families, “and perhaps the most famous,” Rolls-Royce notes, “fictional Socialite Jay Gatsby with his 1922 Silver Ghost.”
Sunday’s Concours will include awards for the vehicles that stand out in their respective classes. The show ends with awards presented to vehicle owners for the “Best-of-Show” award and the coveted “Benz” trophy.
The Concours d’Elegance Car Show takes place in the heart of Geneva’s historic downtown shopping district, which offers friendly retail shops, restaurants, dining, and historical buildings.

The Geneva Concours d’Elegance starts Sunday, August 27, 2023, and is open from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm. Tickets are FREE Admission. The show cars will be lined up on both sides of the street on Third Street from State to South Street.
